Keeping outdoor recreation users safe

The members of NSP apply their hearts and minds every day to ensure the safety of those enjoying the outdoor mountain sports. The National Ski Patrol’s mission, “To help keep people safe on the mountain and during other outdoor activities,” requires a great amount of work to execute. Ski and mountain bike patrollers prepare the mountain and trails in the morning, provide rescue and care for guests during the day, and make sure everyone gets down the mountain safely at close. There is no cost to the injured guest and no cost to the ski area for these services.

The National Ski Patrol has earned GuideStar’s 2019 Gold Seal of Transparency! You can view our GuideStar profile here.

If you are shopping in the NSP store, you can add a donation to your cart in amounts as small as $5. Every dollar donated goes to the Education Endowment Fund, which furthers our legacy of quality outdoor emergency education for patrollers and mountain hosts.

Many corporations participate in volunteer grant programs, matching volunteer time per hour with funds for an organization, or they may match all or part of your cash donation. Ask your employer if these matches are available to you.

Through a volunteer grant program, NSP can receive donations for volunteer work you are already doing as a volunteer patroller! If you make a one-time or recurring cash donation, ask if your employer will  match it. Over half of Fortune 500 companies — and many other companies — have donation matching programs.

Contributions to NSP in honor of a deceased patroller helps honor that patroller’s legacy and further NSP’s impact. These memorial gifts can also inspire new patrollers to devote time and service to their local patrol and the NSP.

The pledge form and online donation form both have spaces to include information about a memorial gift. If you have questions, please contact us at finance@nsp.org.

NSP can accept stock gifts for a minimum of $10,000 value.

If you would like to donate shares, please contact our finance department at finance@nsp.org.
